In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Rochester Ophthalmological Group, P.C. has been implementing several safety measures since March 2020. These measures will be continuously updated as new evidence about COVID-19 becomes available.
Upon entering the building, all patients, visitors, staff and physicians will be required to wear a mask, covering both the mouth and nose and will be asked a brief health questionnaire.
Anyone with a fever, respiratory symptoms, loss of taste or smell or known recent exposure to COVID-19 will be asked to reschedule their appointment.
There are multiple hand sanitizing stations as well as sinks and soap for hand-washing throughout the office. Staff and visitors are encouraged to use frequently.
Exam rooms are thoroughly sanitized using a CDC approved disinfectant in between each patient. We have implemented a thorough cleaning checklist for the entire office that is completed multiple times a day in order to protect both our patients and staff. All common areas, including the front desk, restrooms and waiting room chairs are disinfected frequently throughout the day.
Our waiting areas have been modified in order to reduce congestion. If an exam room is not immediately available for use, patients may choose to wait in their vehicle if they prefer to avoid the waiting area.
In an effort to reduce wait times and limit the amount of people in the building, our doctors have reduced their schedules for the time being. Although we would love to see everyone right now, we are prioritizing medically necessary appointments and emergencies. Routine examinations and non-urgent appointments are available on a limited basis. We are happy to place anyone with a future appointment on a waiting list.
Our eyewear department is now operating by appointment only. Please call the office to schedule an appointment for any adjustments, repairs, pick-ups or to order new glasses. Please note, that walk-ins without an appointment may be asked to wait until an optician is available.
